The mountains of the Costa Dorada are rich in natural beauty and heritage, with unspoilt natural spots, quiet places and good gastronomy. A perfect place for those who want to push their bodies to the limit. This is what the 153 participants of twenty different nationalities did in the Trailcat The Race, an event that mixes the spirit of adventure and mountaineering with that of competition.
The main characteristic of the endurance trail is that the distances are longer than usual: usually between 100 and 200 miles. The tracks were not released until 15 days before the start and participants had to use GPS to follow the route.
Trailcat The Race offered four distances. Adventurers could choose the one that suited them best. The most extreme and suitable only for the bravest was the Trail 200 with a distance of 200 miles, i.e. 310 kilometres and 15,000 metres of elevation gain. This makes it the longest and most demanding on the national calendar.
